On Tuesday morning, there was a large fire in a house on Plutolaan. A 16-year-old boy and his 51-year-old mother died in the fire. A 14-year-old boy is still in the hospital.
Mayor’s reaction
Mayor Yolanda Hoogtanders says: “My thoughts are with the family, the victims, the neighbors, and everyone who has been affected by this. I also want to express my appreciation for the emergency services: the fire department, police, ambulance, and municipal security. They acted quickly and effectively. The municipality is ready to help wherever needed.”
Gathering for residents
On Tuesday evening, a meeting was held in the Donderie. Residents could speak with the mayor, employees of Wonen Zuid, and Victim Support there.
